Tanami Gold (TAM) has resumed drilling at the joint venture Central Tanami project near Alice Springs.

The joint venture with Northern Star (NST) is working on 2,560 meters of diamond drilling at the Jims gold deposit.

The deposit is located approximately 30 kilometers from the Tanami central site and is a relatively shallow gold deposit previously mined in 2001.

The drill campaign is aimed at testing zones of historical high grade intersections, which have only tested zones of near surface gold mineralization.

“The company is eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Jims drill program which has just begun now that the heavy rains and COVID stresses have passed,” Chairman Arthur Dew said.

“The joint venture partners are also finalizing plans for the FY23 drill program, which is expected to see drilling activities continue for the remainder of the 2022 field season.”

The shares were trading up 5.45% at 5.8 cents apiece at market close.
