Spring Lake company benefits from student ideas | Education

SPRING LAKE — A local business is implementing insights from a fourth-grade class to ensure its employees not only know the company’s core values, but are inspired to do so.

As part of the Grand Haven-area public school design-thinking program, fourth-grade students from Lake Hills Elementary pitched ideas to employees of Pliant Plastics, a local plastic manufacturing company. Their problem to solve was employee retention of the company’s core values, and after a tour of the company and discussions with some staff, the students split into five groups to come up with ideas and incentives.
