Registration Now Open for Smith Mountain Lake Business Expo | Local news

Officials from the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce recently announced the opening of sponsorship and registration for the 17th Smith Mountain Lake Trade Show, which will be held Friday, October 15 from noon to 4 p.m. in the gymnasium of the Eastlake Community Church.

This will be the first year that the Eastlake Community Church will serve as the venue for the event, said Erin Stanley, director of member relations and events for the chamber.

“This indoor gymnasium is an ideal space for the exhibition. It offers plenty of room for the more than 100 businesses we plan to attend and takes the worry out of inclement weather, ”Stanley said, noting that the event was postponed from its usual date in early May due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“We will continue to closely monitor COVID developments in our region,” Stanley said. “While we are cautiously optimistic about our ability to move forward with our current plans for the exhibit, the health and safety of the community will be of the utmost importance. We are ready to change the plans for this event if the need arises.

In addition to providing the opportunity to showcase products and services to hundreds of area business owners and the general public, exhibitors at the exhibit can also highlight job postings.

“We are excited about the opportunity to connect local businesses with job seekers in the Smith Mountain Lake area,” said Stanley. “Anyone looking for a job is encouraged to come to the exhibition and meet potential employers. “

The exhibit is free and open to the public, providing residents and visitors alike the opportunity to engage with professionals in the Smith Mountain Lake area who are eager to share information about their products and services, answer questions, offer demonstrations and provide literature and other materials.

Examples of industries that should participate include medicine, health and wellness, media, home and garden, finance, real estate, hospitality, travel, home services and construction. In addition, a number of clubs and civic organizations will be on site.

Sponsorships at various levels are available, providing amenities such as top-notch booth space, signage and other recognition elements, Stanley said. Applications for sponsors and exhibitors are available online at Those interested can also contact Stanley at 540-721-1203 or
