Calidus Resources (CAI) has produced the first gold bar from the carbon leaching circuit at its Warrawoona project in Western Australia.

It follows the first gold pour earlier this month and marks the completion of the process circuit commissioning stage of the project.

A total of 33 kilograms of gold were poured.

The processing plant is now fully operational and has achieved crushing rates of 2.2 million tonnes per year.

Calidus is focused on hitting nameplate production, with the project accelerating to 2.4 million tonnes per year this quarter.

General Manager Dave Reeves attributed the successful go-live to the skill of the Calidus team.

“We would like to thank all of the staff at Calidus, who together with our key contractors…enabled us to deliver the Warrawoona Gold Project on time and within budget,” he said.

“During the remainder of the quarter, we will focus on our operational ramp-up and other site activities, including our active exploration programs that have taken place during development.”

The company is minting a one ounce commemorative gold coin to mark this milestone.

The shares last traded at 81.5 cents on May 16.
