Avon Lake Business Expo is back, bigger and better than ever

AVON LAKE, Ohio – The annual Avon Lake Business exhibition, which was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, has come back bigger and stronger than ever.

More than 70 area businesses filled the Great Hall at the Ahern Food and Banquet Center on Avon Belden Road on July 15. The town of Avon Lake has teamed up with The Power of More, an organization that brings together several regional chambers of commerce under one name, to put on the expo.

The businesses ranged from health care, insurance, and pizza to senior residences, a shooting range, and lots of candy and goodies.

Avon Lake Economic Development Director Ted Esborn estimates a crowd of at least 350 people attended. Rock music kept them entertained for the afternoon.

The exhibit had a good location in previous years, but the response from the business community this year simply caused the exhibit to outgrow this space, which could only hold about 40 companies.

When asked what the city would do when the exhibit got too big for that space, Esborn pointed to a wall and said the installation has another room in which the exhibit can be seated. to expand. Problem solved.

Mayor Greg Zilka said: “I was impressed with the number of tables. About half of the companies are from Avon Lake and the other half from Power of More.

“It’s wonderful. I’m very happy. It’s a great event for small businesses. What’s important, however, is the proceeds from the event that go to Avon / Avon Lake Community Services.

The following companies came to Ahern to show off their businesses, which included samples, displays, and a mountain of documentation to take away:
